The Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market began as an offshoot of the Downtown Art Market that started May 2009. Now, the First Friday Art Trail is a “must-do” downtown Lubbock event each month. We’re celebrating six years this season and have become the largest community-based farmers market in Lubbock and surrounding areas.
Our season runs from the beginning of June until mid-October. We feature a 50/50 mix of local and regional agricultural producers and additional vendors with a variety of arts, crafts, baked goods, beverages, and food trucks.
Attendance averages 1,200 to 1,500 visitors and between 40 and 60 vendors weekly. It takes place in the Depot District area of Downtown Lubbock on Buddy Holly Avenue every Saturday during the season from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
One of our newest projects is the Moonlight Market taking place on the first Friday each month all year long.
The LDFM has always enjoyed a presence on the trail at Tornado Gallery and we’ve increased our reach by having our vendors set up throughout the Depot area.
Our folks will be located at The Garden at 18th and Buddy Holly, in front of Jux-Ta-Posh at 17th and Buddy Holly, McPherson Cellars at 17th and Texas (not open in March), and other areas. As with the market, vendors will vary with the season. We have some produce vendors, bakers, bread, pickles as well as painters and craftsman.
This is a work in progress, so please bear with us as we hit some bumps along the way.
As the weather warms up, our vendors will increase. We also have food trucks set up in the area so you can eat while you hit the trail. Your favorite DD restaurants are also open.
We hope you’ll hit the Art Trail in the Depot District THIS FRIDAY and come out to the Spring Preview Market May 4. The first LDFM is Saturday, June 2.
