A collective of growers and cottage food producers located within 150 miles of Amarillo, Golden Spread Farmer’s Market is dedicated to promoting local foodsheds and providing the best produce to the area.
Originating over thirty years ago, Golden Spread is Amarillo’s oldest and largest true farmer’s market. The market was originally located on 8th Street but was moved to the Sunset Center parking lot at 3701 Plains Blvd and has been there for the past 10 years.

There are several opportunities to buy local produce and catch up with producers throughout the week as the market is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. Golden Spread’s season kicks off July 1st and runs until the first freeze in October.
To bring consumers the freshest produce money can buy and meet the community’s high-quantity demand, Golden Spread’s producers are constantly improving their methods and knowledge of farming. This is one of the defining features of the market. For example, the market had 1,600 cantaloupes and several hundred watermelons just last week.

Golden Spread plans to continue selling at Sunset Center and eventually create a covered area to create shade for vendors and customers, making the shopping experience even more pleasant.
